Melting...

Melting...

A Melting Heart...

Melting...

As an ice cube sets out in the heat of the sun,
it slowly but surely melts away into a puddle
and eventually evaporates,

My heart day in and day out is doing the exact
same thing, knowing that the love of my life is
experiencing the same melting effect because
we so much long to be with one another but for
whatever reason cannot find each other,

I want so much to be solid and in love
to have, hold, and cherish my soul mate,
but for now I feel as if I am that ice cube
slowly but surely melting away,

So I ask God to please put the beautiful sun away
for the evening, so I can bask in the moonlight and
wipe away the puddles that have formed from my
melting heart and crying eyes,

I pray that tomorrow will be the day that I am blessed
to meet my future wife and we can help one another
heal from the time we were apart but always dreamed
of being together,

Oh Lord please let tomorrow be that magical day,
father my heart is dripping, I'm melting away...

I really like the metaphor you used with ice cube and your heart. I think its an interesting concept. perhaps God wants you heart to completely melt before finding the woman he has chosen for you. I loved the line

Really great emotions and beautiful picture there. Reminds me of when i would sit outside and stare at the moon and wonder if my future husband was staring at it too. Lovely. Just lovey.

Your poem is great. I love it on how you use the melting as a gimmick with substance in it.

Check out my read requests that I sended.
I love how you so easily put images to your feelings... wonderful and heartfelt poem! I really enjoyed it, and I feel you on that... it's not easy. Remember that God is never late, nor is he early. Psalm 27:14 and Lamentations 3:25-26... Have an awesome day!

You are absolutely correct:) Thanks for checking it out and b-blessed!
nice write!! do not look at the ice as a negative see it as it melts the water will give life to something to blossom under you. that blossom may be what that "LOVE" is looking for. a block of ice is nothing to see it catches no ones eye. but a blossom calls your eyes to it that may be what brings her to you. GOD is a scientist not a magician he has an order in which things go. it may not be what we expect but it will end up where we want. great write blessings be with you brother!!!!!!!

It is apparent you are longing for your soul mate, the one who will become your wife and the way you have been able to pour out your heart in expressing your desire is absolutely beautiful. You have great faith and it is that faith that shall help you know God's will for your life. I know you are praying about this. But, I too give a word of advice that what we desire is not always what our Heavenly Father has designed for our life. Stop and meditate on what you want, and what He might want for you at this time. I have wished for many things, gotten some of them and they were not for my good, so as I have become older I have become more open to that which God wants for me. I do not mean to sound as if I am preaching, as I am not......I want you to be happy while you are waiting for His perfect will!!!!!!
Your words are beautiful, and the parallel you use with the ice melting is exceptional!

What a beautiful piece, James, and the metaphor is simply spot on. I hope the Lord grants you the solidification you seek... the love of a woman that will at least melt when you do :) Absolutely beautiful!!!!
