Butterflies

Butterflies

A Poem by Jamestown
"

Triumphant life...

"
Butterflies...

Oh beautiful butterfly please don't fly away,
can't you stay, I want a few kisses that will
be turned into wishes,

I want to fly with you,
l want to see what you see
I want to fly higher then the trees
Oh beautiful butterfly won't you come back please,

At birth a caterpillar crawling on ground
taking forever to get around,
just moving a hundred feet probably seemed
like town to town,

Now grown up adults they fly with ease,
using freedom under their wings a nice
calm breeze,

Before getting those freedom wings,
they had to go through hell and back
you better believe,

And before we get ours
so will we...

Butterflies are beautiful and even when they are scary, it's hidden.
Great metaphors and neat write, my friend :)

I just wish don't end up with man-eating butterflies. Hope no radiation accidents occur :)
Also this reminded me of some demons in an anime whose name I cannot recollect.

Many of the flying things that God made are so beautiful. They do it and at no cost and no gas. Lucky them. Valentine

Perfect metaphor to suit your message. A butterfly's struggle does give returns...and what amazing returns!! Is there anything better than being free and being able to fly, especially after having to crawl like a big green bug for what seemed like a lifetime?? Favourite lines : "At birth a caterpillar crawling on ground
taking forever to get around,
just moving a hundred feet probably seemed
like town to town, "

Same to you, dear! :))
The image you create gives a different view, an out of body experience and lures us to become a butterfly. A very beautiful imagery. Thanks for painting this beautiful picture for us.

Very beautiful, James. I like this one very, very much. One of your best I think. The words and the rhythm of the sentences, but also the imagery and the metaphor. Just perfect. :) Rudi
