Life's Problems...

You know the deal, life always throwing something at me
always something to distract me,

If it's not one thing it's another
I understand how people's minds get stuck
in the gutter,

But I'm not like other people you see
being knocked of my horse is drag
but giving up is not okay with me,

Quitting NEVER, I'll figure these problems out
I know I'm clever,

It would have to be death for me to call it quits
I'll do anything to prevail that life permits,
Whatever I have to do to figure these problems
out no doubt,

No time for standing around of finding a reason to pout
no reason to get angry and shout, time to jump
back on the house and figure this stuff out,

It's not how many times you get knocked down
a measure of a man is how many times you get up
and ride that horse into the sun with your head held
high and your chin up,

So here I go trotting away on my horse dropping
life's problems 1 by 1 of course and if stuff gets
to hot in the kitchen , I'll ask God for help I know
he's always listen...

Not just men James but women too. We also have troubles to overcome, black marks in our pasts we wish to forget and wash away. Admitting it is hard sometimes. No one is perfect, only Jesus. Just be thankful to be washed clean and being a child of God. Kathie

First, let me say that I liked this. Love the 7th stanza. 3rd stanza needs a few words inserted ("a" between is and drag...and then "of" changed to off). Really good!! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks again for checking it out and your helpful hints.
Nice work JT, especially liked the last two verses:

It's not how many times you get knocked down
a measure of a man is how many times you get up
and ride that horse into the sun with your head held
high and your chin up,

We all have our share of problems but instead of running away from them we should learn to face them head on; and if the problem is beyond our control we can always rest assured that the Lord will be by our side.

The image of you riding out into the sunset made me smile... :) Just as it should be - except the horse, haha... No, I understand what you mean... It is just the last stanza that took me by surprise... it is good and I like it, your wording is just different from the rest of the poem...

"So here I go trotting away on my horse dropping
life's problems 1 by 1 of course and if stuff gets
to hot in the kitchen , I'll ask God for help I know
he's always listen..."

Or maybe it is just my brain doing weird stuff again :)
In my mind I see you on a horse riding off solving problems (it is all cartoon, except for you).... then I see an old chef standing in the summer heat with a frying pan giving advice to you while extinguishing the flames that continuously try to breathe (God vs. Satan - though he seem really casual about it)... I know that this probably means that I have some serious issues...

Apart from my brain doing funny stuff, I enjoyed reading it :) I love the message!

Thanks for checking it out and your kind review! PTL
Great defiance and dose of hope at the end. After everything we try to do with our own power, the answer's always the same. Trust in God and stand proud against life's adversities. Very easy to relate with. Loved it!

You're welcome and Amen to that
I think it is a different writing style. I like it. The line "I'll do anything to prevail that life permits" is so fantastically optimistic. You changed the style in the last three verses and that reflects in what you are talking about too. That's genius. Really well written indeed. Thanks for sharing.

i really like this...problems are problems but we need to use the obstacles to learn from and then move on stronger than ever.

with a positive attitude, much like you have, dear poet.
