Cross Wind...

With the cross wind, I want to grab you and jump in,
let's not pretend, I want to spend my life with you,
are you ready to begin,

Like the wind dancing with the clouds,
I want to dance my life with you forever,
without any doubts,

We can waltz through this life,
you and I as a team,
won't you please be my wife,

1 2 3, we will step over or around,
any trial or tribulation,
because together we can face any situation,

We have danced into each other's hearts,
and there isn't anything that can pull us apart,

The next step in this dance is completely up to you,
but I am certain, that I'm in love with you,
I just need to know what you would like to do,

If you love me as I love you, please take my hand
and accept this dance, I want nothing more than
to give our love a chance,

So with the cross wind are you willing to jump in,
and let our love dance begin,

Now I can't promise you where this wind will
take us, or where we will end up,
but we'll leave that in God's hands
and let the great I AM handle our plans...

You said it perfect here James... giving love a chance is what it is all about. Finding someone to pour their heart out and love you the way you love them is something special.... thats when you know you found the right one. Great work my friend!

Great work JT. I loved the flow of the poem, its very smooth and very easy to read; and above all very sincere, sounds like the words of a man in love.

this is the verse that i liked the most; however take a look at the second line i think it should be "tribulation" instead of "tribulations". Also the 7th verse the second line shouldn't the word be accept instead of expect?
Also loved the last line, let the great I AM handle our plans.

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

I havent came across the term 'I AM' JT. Its intriguing. I thought we Roman Catholics pretty much had all the symbols and all the phrases copyrighted ;p
But to the poem...
Its a beautiful offer of love and life-time commitment and the 'cross wind' metaphor is very skillfully employed my friend. Both parties jumping together has such ancient connotations, when a marriage ceremony pretty much consisted of the betrothed jumping over a broom.
Your writing just gets better !
