Hidden Hearts...

Hidden Hearts...

A Poem by Jamestown

Heart Broken...

"
Hidden Hearts...

When our hearts have been broken,
lied to, ripped out, stomped on and
have been taken advantage of,

Our natural defense is to tuck our hearts in and hide
them from the world, While we hide our hearts
from the world, the chance of rebuilding them
with the glory of love passes by day in and day out,
like a fair breeze on a warm spring day,

As time comes and goes as fast as lighting
in a storm, our hearts begin to wilt like a rose,
without sunlight, no light which leads to no hope,
which leads to no life,

By hiding our hearts, we are essentially killing
them with a slow painful, unloved death,
Because we are terrified to let them see the light of
day, knowing that pain our hearts suffered could happen again,

Hiding our hearts is not the answer, to a happy
healthy heart, and the safety we think we're providing
is not safe at all, our hearts need to love and be loved,
and hiding away in some dark spot, certainly isn't
allowing our hearts the joy and love they need and desire,

We have to once again become vulnerable,
and take a chance at love, we can't keep
our hearts hidden forever...

Thanks for checking it out and your kind review b-blessed!
From a gardening point of view and scriptural as well four ingredients are necessary for growth.(1) the seed rather seed of faith or plant seed(2) soil or nurturing receptive heart (3) water to feed the seed and the scripture the food for the soul (4) the sun/son necessary to change the seed into a plant or tree is accomplished with the "sun" The Son will mature the seed of faith planted within a receptive heart or soul relationships are not much different

Hello dear brethren. It's been a while. I am happy to read your works again. You always have that wonderful way of penning the truth. Most of the time, we do not wear our hearts on our sleeves, because we are frightened to be judged by the world's prying eyes. However, when the time is right, everything will fall in to place and we will be able to live through the desires of your heart. Great job!

great work James the truth is there to see, i guess we all have hidden our hearts away at some time, to bring them out again when it feels safe, your work sometimes seems mix poetry and sermon, I hope you don't mind me saying its meant as a good thing :)

I love this piece because you cut to the core in a few seconds to a minute what people would pay hundreds of dollars to go to therapists for. Advice like this is not for the weak and it also speaks to my philosophical nature. Keep writing, you're awesome.

The intensity is beyond me, when it comes t this writing piece, although that might just because I can connect with every line of this poem to a level that is somewhat uncomfortable.
Despite the memories that this has poem has pulled up from years worth of burying, I over enjoyed this, and congratulate you for your accomplishment of truly touching one of your readers in more than a personal way, thank you so much for suggesting this poem for me to read, it really has made a difference.
That's all I'm going to say :)

I totally agree with you, James. But sometimes it's difficult if you are hurt, sometimes it takes courage and also time to set your heart open again, but it's certainly worth while trying. :) Rudi

Very wise and Godly man I reap from what you have written my heart has been bitter and love has not seen the light of day dwelling in the cellar of my home life not getting suns rays my heart was jealous and enraged almost in a fight engaged.
