I know you are smarter then to believe,
this nonsense,

Oh I get it, you were talking about that time back
in college, when we got wasted and you fell down,
the dorm stairwell and banged your head really bad,

Or are you, talking about that old 1985 sleazy,
porno movie you still have stuck in that outdated,
VHS in your garage,

Well it's gotta be one of the two,
because these two sonorous,
make more sense then the, BIG BANG!

That's interesting but not that stimulating. An artist must be open for all possibilities to listen small details with open arms even though it's a bullshit. Without that, your writing can be narrowed and limited like you are still in a box of your own which no one want to hear. Or you need to at least explain and try to understand your readers with your own voice.

Well, I'm pretty sure it says in the holy Bible that everything was created from water; if one believes in that, it is proof that the Big Bang Theory is true. It says so in the Quran in the same verse: "The heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made every living thing of water." 21:30

:D i know better than to argue this one with you JT, but remember that any scientist knows that the big bang is not the truth, it's just our best guess based on the experiments and evidence we have been able to collect so far. There are theories that also exist that contradict the big bang, that are just as viable based on exiting science. It is my belief system to say "i don't know for sure, but i hope one day to be pretty sure". know that i would be a man of god pretty quick if there was solid scientific results to support his theory. unfortunately for that thought, science has been more effective at disproving what we think we know of his existence. the people who "believe" in the big bang are comparable to the Christians who attend church every other Christmas. sadly, these recreational scientists are often the most outspoken and... stubborn.

i enjoyed this poem to be honest, i myself have a skeptical eye to the theory :) it's weak

Explaining God away seems to be the main purpose of modern science.
In that regard, science is failing, badly.
These anti-God, primarily materialists, will entertain just about every conceivable theory to come down the pike--except, of course, for the possible existence of an Uncaused Cause.

Firstly a comment on your Author's note: 'All glory and praise be to God!!!'

I am in 100% agreement with you. The only appropriate response I can muster to those words is: AMEN!

I can see that you describe yourself as new, though I don't know how new. Have we met before on here? My short term memory is appalling!

In any case from someone who has been on this site for a long time, a warm welcome to you to Writers Cafe, which is my view the best writing site on the internet and I have tried many. Here you will find if you go looking a body of very mutually supportive writers. They will help you on their way as you may them.

By the way I am 55 and I think you somewhat younger. Maybe you're not. But what's in a number? I still feel like I'm 15.

There is an advantage to 'mental' youth. In writing they often say you should write through the eyes of the child we both once were. Neither us whatever the age gap are children anymore. But the notion I find useful.

All the above points of connection between us.

And here's one more before I address your poem.

Maybe it's a matter of surprise to us both, maybe it is isn't given what I and you have just said, but unnervingly I have a piece of poetic prose on here called 'Big Bang.' It just addresses the same issue as yours but in a different way. No need to review at all but here's the link of you are interested in just reading it. It's pretty short:

Please note that my Author's note on the piece you have to read with the piece, where like you in the end it gets down from philosophy to pure humour! In fact I think the Author's note is better written than the piece itself!

Having established connection, let me just say a few words on this piece of writing both technical and emotional.

Form / rhyme / rhythm: You have none. But need you have? No! This I would somewhere between poetic prose and straight free verse.

Use of language: It is modern and colloquial. I'll throw your own words back at you to demonstrate my point like: 'wasted', 'bad' rather than badly; 'gotta', 'yeah right'.

But in the interests of telling you what I think as this is what this site is all about, you suddenly drop in a word, which is complex and not part of the every day language you otherwise use.

And that word is 'sonorous'. It clangs given the style of writing you otherwise pick. That's not a complaint, it's an observation. But maybe if you want to keep constant, you might pick another word from more modern English vocabulary.

Analogy: This is your whole topic and where you get to amuse. You take the terribly philosophical and scientific notion of the 'Big Bang theory and poke fun at it by comparing it to a couple of off the wall, throw away anecdotes. There you really do make me smile.

Meaning: Every writer has to allow the reader to form their own interpretation of a piece of writing even if it so far from what the writer meant you couldn't imagine.

Any piece of writing is a private conversation between two people, the writer and the single reader who happens to be holding your book in their hands or looking at it on a computer screen.

The same applies to all the arts be they pictorial or other.

But as a complete side-step here, be it in writing or other art, there are those who do not intend a meaning, whilst I believe you do here.

I love what Picasso said about one of his paintings 'Guernica'. People kept on asking him what it meant. He used to get angry about that and said 'Would you ask that about a piece of music?'

Well not that I can gainsay Picasso, but for good or ill be it in writing, painting or music, YEP we all do want to know what any art is all about. Take Vivaldi's Four Seasons. So sorry Picasso, bless your cotton socks!

Sorry for the comment off topic but sometimes my reviews get close to being stream of consciousness and that is just because of straight emotional reaction to writing.

So OK. You think the Big Bang theory is nonsense. In many ways if you read my piece I mention above I agree. But even if we disagree, I get to the same place as you in the end, which I believe there is a creator God behind life and our beginnings. And I think we share the same God.

I think I have rambled on enough about this cute piece of writing.

But hey look. Do not expect to write a few words without getting a reaction be it technical or above all emotional.
