Angry Cry...

Angry Cry...

A Poem by Jamestown
"

Crying out of anger...

"
Angry Cry...

Have you ever become so angry,
that you break down and cry?

Not crying because of sadness,
but because of overwhelming madness,

Someone or something, has got under your skin,
to the point of rage, and the only way to release that
anger and rage, is to cry it out, so the rage doesn't
take on a life of it's own and engage world war 3
against any poor sucker that is in your path,

I believe this steams from several things that add
up and mount, and then the crying is a safe and healthy
way to get those painful frustrations out,

I don't get angry often, but when I do,
I come unglued, and you better hope
my anger isn't aimed at you,

When my anger level reaches a certain point,
it actually scares me, because only I know my
capabilities, and I promise you this,
nobody wants to witness that,
I become somebody I'm not proud of,
a psychopath running around ready to attack,

My vision will tunnel into red and then quickly,
to black, then at a drop of a dime I will snap,
Most of the time, I don't remember what I have done,
but when I come too, I'm always reminded that none of,
it was fun,

I'm known as Mr. Nice guy and I really enjoy being,
spiritual, positive, uplifting and a role model for my peers,
I don't want anybody to ever know, I have another side
so I try extremely hard to keep my anger inside,

I don't ever want to do something, that I would regret or couldn't
take back, that's why I stay close to God to keep me on the
right track,

Today was one of those days, where a angry cry had to come out,
and I'm glad that It did and I thank the good lord everybody lived...

This is quite a poem, JT. Such deep emotion locked inside for so long and then breaks through the surface. It must have been difficult for you to write.

At moments, when reading your poem, I could feel my heart fracture just a little bit. I saw this image of a man pouring out lava - the weight of the world - while trying to contain it within his arms reach to ensure minimal damage to the surroundings. Whilst trying to contain it, the lava devoured him slowly from the inside. Long painful death...

It is of course good to be aware on how your anger can affect others. However, there is no shame in feeling anger as such - no one is perfect :) It is the manner in which it is expressed.
Perhaps if you allowed yourself to say 'no' more often or let people know, when they are crossing a line...?

For many years, I never showed any sign of anger and then one day I couldn't hold it in anymore. People were shocked - and so was I! I had always done the correct thing too, everybody counted on me to do so.

When a kettle fills up with steam and you block the outlet, what is going to happen next is nevr pretty...

I am sure i could make some comments about structure and imagery... but right now I am still too caught up in the emotion of the poem.

Hi Jamestown. What an outpouring of emotion came with this poem. It is good to vent on paper, like an escape, or a safety valve to release the pressure and I admire you for acknowledging the emotion exists. I found the words flowed and built to a crescendo before diminishing and ending in silent thanks. A good read, alf

Extremely honest introspection, J.
No one (except for God, of course) knows you better than you know yourself.
Sounds to me like you're heading in a good direction to eventually and properly deal with those "anger issues."
"Anger Cry" is a solid piece of work, young poet.

God bless you!
I was lucky. I had a father who couldn't control his anger. Taught me to keep control and not be violence.
"I don't ever want to do something, that I would regret or couldn't
take back, that's why I stay close to God to keep me on the
right track, "
I have known anger. I did self-torture with booze than running marathons when I gained wisdom. Thank you for the powerful poetry and thoughts.

I agree in this eloquent piece. Crying in silence won't hurt anyone instead of bursting out your anger to a person.
