The World's Last Supper...

The World's Last Supper...

The World's Last Supper...

Do you believe that this world is here,
to serve you,

Or are you willing to serve this world,
a five course meal, with a nice fresh napkin,
and a note attached that reads,

" I'm not of this world "

And he, whom dwells in me,
is greater then he whom dwells in
this world...

" Enjoy your supper "

Very deep meaning in these words James! I love it and love the way you paint a clear picture of who He is that dwells in you. Great work..

Thanks again my brother! God bless you!
The last supper, as Christ's companions ate it. Beautifully imaged. Very brief, but honestly, I think it's your best piece. Keep writing. You inspire us all, of different faiths.

This is really well written! I like that the criticism of our self-centred tendencies becomes a plea, an encouragement to wake up and engage in the world.

This love this image, so elegantly simple:
"Or are you willing to serve this world,
a five course meal, with a nice fresh napkin, "

The lightness and flow of something that is really quite important...
it also contrasts the language in this passage nicely:
"And he, whom dwells in me,
is greater then he whom dwells in
this world... "

It is a very versatile poem that manages to send the message to people religious and non-religious, with lots of little details that I like! Well done, Jamestown :) Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for checking it out, yes a few different messages in this piece.

Nicely written! I may not be a Catholic, but I can definitely sense the devotion of a believer towards God! It reminds me of what my class teacher told our class last month, when she saw that most of us were just donating a few dollars (in Hong Kong Dollars, which is about 1 USD) each. She told us to learn to give instead of only taking.
In a Christian school, I learnt about the Decalogue, and to serve God with all our hearts, all our might, all our soul is one of the Commandments. We all came here to serve. Those who are willing to serve one another are blessed and shall deserve a share of the supper.

I don't know if it is, I don't know if I agree with your statement. I believe in God, but I also believe in the strength of the human being. There's evil and it is of all times, it is from the past and the future and we are living times with darks shadows. I think we mustn't lose our hope, it's the motor that keeps us running. Otherwise there no reason left to live our lives, to go on further. :) Rudi
