The Beautiful People...

Are not so beautiful you see,
they lie, cheat and steal, they live to deceive,

Their hearts are filled with hate,
and when fellow man struggles, they laugh
cause that's what they anticipate,

The Beautiful People, hide in the dark,
and prey on you cause your the mark,

They are running this world into the ground,
as the good folks just watch and stand around,

The Beautiful People, are not beautiful anymore,
they only think of themselves, always looking to score,

As we watch they get rich, then we cry,
then we b***h,

I refuse to fall with this world,
please grab my hand and let's make a stand,
let's bring beauty back to the people and the land,
now if you ask me, that sounds like a plan,

We have lost sight at what is right,
but together we can still win this fight...

wow so true, James. however, such war needs great courage and endurance to win. 'beautiful' today seems to mean pretentious, dishonest, and arrogant. I personally think it's gonna get even worse, but this poem sparks a little flame within us, reminding us that we still have a chance to fix a little part of it.

Definitely both a scolding of some people's life choices and a call to arms for those who dare to make a difference. Beautifully said and I enjoyed the rhyming throughout, especially the non-traditional pairing of "see" with "deceive". Well done!
