The Beautiful People...

Are not so beautiful you see,
they lie, cheat and steal, they live to deceive,

Their hearts are filled with hate,
and when fellow man struggles, they laugh
cause that's what they anticipate,

The Beautiful People, hide in the dark,
and prey on you cause your the mark,

They are running this world into the ground,
as the good folks just watch and stand around,

The Beautiful People, are not beautiful anymore,
they only think of themselves, always looking to score,

As we watch they get rich, then we cry,
then we b***h,

I refuse to fall with this world,
please grab my hand and let's make a stand,
let's bring beauty back to the people and the land,
now if you ask me, that sounds like a plan,

We have lost sight at what is right,
but together we can still win this fight...

Jamestown, The beautiful people of which you speak, whether they are our government or the people getting rich off of the war machine they run, don't care about the returning heroes who are now broken and scattered minds in the wind. Companies that profit from the killing donate huge sums of $$$ to those who wish to keep the US involved in permanent war ride their yachts down the rivers of blood left behind by the forgotten. Your write is honest and demands that we be heard to effect change in the corrupt war machine running roughshod over the innocent and the taxpayers who fund their follies. I think, Jamestown, it's far worse than merely losing sight of what is right; people are no longer sure of what is right--a huge difference.

Yes, yes, yes. I love this! I have always admired poetry that rhymes, probably because I am no good at it, but this is one of my new favorites. This are my favorite lines:

"The Beautiful People, are not beautiful anymore,
they only think of themselves, always looking to score,"

I just love the way you set up the whole poem, and made it so entertaining and lovely to read, although it has somewhat of a dismal focus.

Time to take a stand against beauty! I mostly thought of the government while reading this simply because they're always well dressed in suits and expensive attire. People are not who they appear to be. It's like a two-way mirror really. They can see us, but we can't see them.
