Dream Land...

Come on and follow me, let's slip away for awhile to dream land,
let's just take off with no set plan,

Let's leave our worries and problems behind,
and escape and enjoy our creative minds,

Let's do all the stuff we've always wanted to do,
it's dream land, it's completely up to you,

We can travel to far away lands,
and spend a hundred grand,

We could pretend, we're at the top of the world's tallest mountain,
or in Rome, embracing at the famous love fountain,

What about making love at some secluded tropical island,
maybe tucked away somewhere in Thailand,

Or fly a spaceship to Mars, and get a close-up
at the moon and the stars,

Wow, what about floating to heaven and visiting God,
and the rest of the brethren,

All of it sounds completely awesome!!!

Honestly, I don't care what we do or where we go in dream land,
just as long as you're present and holding my hand...

The rhythm was nice and the imagery was great. All the places you described seem like cool places to go in a dream or in a dream land. I like how not only the character wants to go to these dream able places but he wants to take this certain someone with him.

Seems like the character in this piece is finally free of the demands on his time and mind, finally free to be with who he wants and wishing to take it to the farthest point he can. Its a beautiful piece james. great feeling of optimism and redemption

Lovely poem, i like the sound of this dream land. nice imagery, i enjoyed the casual yet passionate tone. the meter of the poem is nice, i like how it slips into an iambic rhythm at times.

things to consider:

when you say 'the world's tallest mountain', why not name it, it would keep the poem snappy.
i would say 'our brethren' but that's just personal preference.
i would lose the line 'all of it sounds completely awesome'---the poem does that legwork for you, i don't feel you need to state it. Or if you are trying to set up the volta of the poem, try phrase it something like 'but of all the things which we might dream of / Honestly I don't care etc' otherwise it sounds like you're bigging up your own poetic ideas.

love the feel of this poem however, leaves a warm feeling in the pit of the stomach and a sense of optimism :)

This reminded me of Neverland from Peter Pan. Wanting to escape reality and go into a fantasy land full of nothing but joy and happiness. There's kind of a somber backdrop to it, in a way. Living in a fantasy can make life completely pass you by. Nevertheless, your work is fantastic. :)
