The Shining Sun...

Romans-12:10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves...

As the bright beautiful shining sun rises in the morning,
we to follow suit,
This blazing ball of gas is so important to our existence,
without the amazing sun we would not be able to do anything,
life as we know it, would be no more.

This gorgeous sun of ours, is used as a massive power source/light
for the earth our home,
I too feel like, I need to be a massive power source/light for my brothers
and sisters of earth,

By absorbing the suns powerful positive energy we are
capable to live our lives as we do,
Unfortunately not all of our brothers and sisters have the same means
to do so,

This wonderful sun of ours, is a gift from God that keeps on giving,
I believe we should recycle this positive energy and help
our fellow man,

By taking this positive energy and doing something positive,
for someone else, besides family, friends, or yourself,
could make a huge difference in one of our fellow mans life,

To think of someone else, rather then yourself is difficult,
but not at all impossible,
It's the right thing to do!!!

So, I challenge you to do something for your fellow man today,
recycle the suns powerful positive energy, give back what God gave
us, honor someone besides yourself,

Today, you become someone's bright, beautiful, shining sun...

Wonderful, just so wonderfully penned, my dear friend. I commend your outlook on life, on spreading the positive energy into the lives of those who need it. God has indeed given us great gifts to use, yet we must not become selfish, but rather, be selfless....so as to become "someone's bright, beautiful, shining sun"

I love the idea behind this poem, i like how its 'do unto others' spirituality and environmentally conscious messages are wrapped up together in the same lines.

I would avoid phrases like 'shining sun' -people always say the sun 'shines' whenever i write poetry i always think of trying to find a new or unusual way to describe the things you talk about see Emily Dickinson for example calls the sun a 'wheeling king'!

Meanwhile—Her wheeling King—
Trailed—slow—along the Orchards—
His haughty—spangled Hems—
Leaving a new necessity!
The want of Diadems!

The title doesn't carry the strength of the poem, if you are fond of the bible maybe you could borrow a phrase as the title, or have a quote in italics under the title to strengthen it e.g

From the rising of the sun to its setting The name of the LORD is to be praised. (Psalms 113:3)

Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their utterances to the end of the world In them He has placed a tent for the sun, (Psalms 19:4)

or even a quote from a great writer: 'I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.' (C. S. Lewis)
