Our Last Day...

Our Last Day...

A Poem by Jamestown
"

Last day alive...

"
If you were given the chance, to know when you would die,
would you want to know?
NO!
I don't think so, I don't think I would,
I believe God's plans good,

Some say"they would live everyday as there last" and not,
worry about the past, but I don't understand why we don't live that
way present day,
If that's the case, I believe we should be ashamed, and
with a ton of the worlds blames,

If I die today, what would my legacy be, I want my kids proud of me,
If we took the mind set of,"today is my last"
maybe we would go the extra mile, to improve the world for someone's child,

Just something to think about, I honestly hope we can all get on the same route,
and while you think, I'll began to pray cause you never know today could be your day...

I agree. I don't want to know the date of my death.

The above are powerful lines to ponder. I believe we are what we leave upon this earth. If we taught our children to know kindness, love and concern. We have done well. My Grandmother and Grandfather had 40 people with him near at their death. They lived a good life. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry. A good poem support to create thoughts, teach or leave the reader with something. This poem did.

Very powerful poem ! I think no one want to know when they'll die , as many of us want to live forever with our loved one . It's hard to let go .

Thanks for checking it out, and PTL!
I agree with you. I would not want to know. I also think you can make everyday special because none of us truly know what to expect tomorrow. You touched a very relevant topic for me. Great job Jamestown.

You are welcome :)
Were you listening to Nickleback...when this came to mine...you do not have to answer that...I
do believe each one takes their way...in which is favorable to them...but in all reality the last day or days...

...can impact a person's judgment in how that favorable no longer applies...the idea of never coming back is dreadful...yet we all must take that path...as to what comes to mine once you know your time is up...again is a turn we all must cherish...there's no going back...not in this life...I do agree with the comment below of making this work more concrete...that's just IMPO...if you're content with the way you wrote the words...as the author of this write...so be...

Thanks for checking it out, and a rewrite is definitely a possibility for sure, if you have any idea.. read more
A rewrite would do wonders to this piece. Your curiosity and firm belief in what death should be was illustrated well in this one. I look forward reading more of your work.

It's not just the last day we should live.. but the last hour, minute, second. Life is so precious, there's so much to do, to learn, to feel, to see, to love.. etcetera.. even in sleep we have our dreams to wake with and our nightmares to let fade.

Your words seem to come from the pit of your core - they're sincere and quite beautiful.
