Evil Reign. ..

Evil Reign. ..

A Poem by Jamestown
"

Spiritual

"
Why does evil reign?
Why do we let our hearts hold on to everlasting pain?
Why do we let evil prevail, like a full fledged war on our loved ones, like anthrax in the mail?

Why do we let hate win the race, when we all know love should take first place?
Why do we let our sinful minds run our lives, when it's our hearts that take the impact of our nose dives?

Why do we unleash the beast, when we truly desire peace?
Why do we let rage dictate our day, when "God Help" is all we need to say?
Why do we let our mouths spit lies, when we all know we cant hide from the most high?

Why do we kick a man when he's already down, this doesn't make me or God proud?
Why does evil reign?

' The problem of Evil' has a long history and all religions have struggled to explain it away, the answer isn't simple. I've read the three poems you have on show here and I like your thoughtful writing but all three of them are lists. Sometimes a list is appropriate but more often it doesn't grip the reader, it doesn't feel 'reader-friendly' and sadly it misses all the opportunities to be lyrical, beautiful or memorable. Anyway, keep up the great writing.

You explored so many relevant questions , I know I ask myself every day...

The lines that I was drawn and connected to, were:
Why do we unleash the beast, when we truly desire peace?
Why do we let rage dictate our day, when "God Help" is all we need to say?

Well written...

What a wonderful poem! I love the anthrax in the mail line. its true like Paul explained we do what we dont want to do and what we want to do we cant do it. Sad state of man. But wehave a happy ending because if we were good then Jesus would have never died for us and we would get into Heaven by what. we do thus never experiancing His amazing Grace.

This world is not our home,Man is your answer he has free will and will always take the wrong path without the Love and forgiveness from our Savior very good poem we are only voices in the wilderness perhaps even one soul may be saved by the seeds that we plant

Wise words. Your poem reminds me of the saying "The only necessary thing for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing"
