Why does evil reign?
Why do we let our hearts hold on to everlasting pain?
Why do we let evil prevail, like a full fledged war on our loved ones, like anthrax in the mail?
Why do we let hate win the race, when we all know love should take first place?
Why do we let our sinful minds run our lives, when it's our hearts that take the impact of our nose dives?
Why do we unleash the beast, when we truly desire peace?
Why do we let rage dictate our day, when "God Help" is all we need to say?
Why do we let our mouths spit lies, when we all know we cant hide from the most high?
Why do we kick a man when he's already down, this doesn't make me or God proud?
Why does evil reign?
' The problem of Evil' has a long history and all religions have struggled to explain it away, the answer isn't simple. I've read the three poems you have on show here and I like your thoughtful writing but all three of them are lists. Sometimes a list is appropriate but more often it doesn't grip the reader, it doesn't feel 'reader-friendly' and sadly it misses all the opportunities to be lyrical, beautiful or memorable. Anyway, keep up the great writing.
Jamestown,
"Evil Reign"
Evil is the result of sin that has been allowed a foothold in a life of even structure's of society or government and other man made politics...etc.
It many even have a beginning in an act of one person.
Agenda is ussually the covering for this wrong backed evil within poeple and the results do not bring God the glory.
God is our help if given a place of honor. I am pleased to see this writing and to continue to watch and be aware that our (enemy as a roaring lion desires to destroy. 1 Peter 5:8) Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
blessings,
Kathy
Satan clouds men's minds; convincing them to call evil by some other name--making the renamed seem like something that shouldn't be resisted. "Reproductive rights", for example, obscures the killing of unborn babies; leading some to believe sacrificing their own children somehow represents an exercise in "freedom."
Wise and insightful piece, good poet!
This is a question we all need to ask, not others but our inner-selves too.. Somewhere sometimes we all let evil reign our senses.. An intriguing piece James :)

I completely agree with your review:)
Good questions. As humans, we're not perfect, and we do sin, but also, God is always there to accept repentance. Thanks for sharing.

Why does evil reign?
Well... because men aren't sane.
Nice writing, though I may not be religious, I find myself thinking similar thoughts about "evil" every once in a while. "Why do we kick a man when he's already down..." both literally and figuratively this is the line which hit me the most, I see that every day all around me and I can only guess it's the same wherever one may be. Thanks for sharing, kudos.

Great piece brethren! It has its biblical origin. Our enemy has reigned and conquered the earth, for we are not from here. We belong to the kingdom of God in the heavens. Thus, making us strangers in this world. We shall fight and go against the snare of the enemy.
Overall, your words, lines and thoughts are very well arrayed. Thank you for sharing this piece! God Bless.
The poem told a real story. New world forget no perfect man. Just us doing our best. I like the reasons and questions brought to life by this poem.
