Inner self

Inner self

A Poem by James Whitefall
"

Her eyes are so beautiful I get lost in them.

"

I’m reminded of a rose
Who’s bloom has been halted,
Pedals soft, but closed to the world.
A secluded far-off place,
Hidden and layers concealed,
With guise to catch a glimpse,
There is no room for two.

Cupped, fingers entwined
As gentle as I,
Thorns draw blood,
They prick and poke,
Thus draw harder,
Endure the pain,
Until droplets fall to the earth,
Mixing with the soil,
An image unspoiled,
Is what you mean to me.
