Sonnet #1A Poem by James WhitefallA sonnet of late night desires.This occasion she was out in the
night, The spooky sounds gave her an
awful fright, Hearing a man’s voice cackle in
delight, Sent her looking for a way to
ignite; The lantern hanging, not giving
bright light, A wish of leaving the party on time, Curse, no gentleman standing by
her side, No carriage, or horse, nothing but
moon’s bright, Dull blade, weapon; puffy dress,
Valentines, Yes! I see she was concerned for
her life, Sneaking, creeping, approaching
out of sight, She, my true love, my heart
stalking this time, Alas, at her doorstep she finally
arrived, No hair on her hurt, My True Love;
My Valentine. © 2016 James WhitefallAuthor's Note
