Waste AwayA Poem by James Wells
I know you never saw the inside
Of my house, only stood outside. Like my heart, breaks in 4/4 time. While I'm out, going outta my mind. And I shake, as I feel you shiver. The rain, makes your body quiver. I'm a joke, hoping something happens. Love notes, lies on little napkins. But I'd pray, that the sun would shine for days and days. Daisy's bloom, I'd come with you, and things would be okay. I'd waste, a million and one days, away away away. With you, I'd lay with you, I'd lay At the edge of eternity where I cry Calling out, denouncing my crimes. Was it fake when I tore out the driveway Full of hate, knowing that my mind's made. Then you arrive, eyes shiny diamonds. Pulled me from the hole I'd been hiding. Safe to say, I am safe with you here. What a way, quell and crush my fear. But I'd pray, that the sun would shine for days and days. Daisy's bloom, I'd come with you, and things would be okay. I'd waste, a million and one days, away away away. With you, I'd lay with you, I'd lay At the crux of what we are, we've come so far We've come so far, we'd fall so hard I'm with you, standing so true, Take my finger, don't let this linger. More than a memory, just stay with me Just lay with me and we'll be something greater. So much greater.
