BattlesA Poem by James Wells
Talk about your humanity.
All I see is calamity. Bridges burn and people die. For a fairy tale high in the sky. A visionary could come and say. We need to go our separate ways. You would not care and you would not go. You'll all pick and bleed until you hurt the most. We are just wandering through this life. So don't turn and run when you see Everything that ends eventually. Bring me your insanity. The fire's fuel, feeding me. I want your lives and your little souls. In exchange you'll achieve precious goals. Or would I lie and quickly hide the night. Just to extinguish what you thought was light. I'll sift through the wreckage to find your bones. Then I'll build myself a new burning home. We are just wandering through this life. So don't turn and run when you see Everything that ends eventually. Our daily bread for a simple ghost. Abandoned you when you needed most. A savior that could resist the plight. And save you on this awful night. We are just wandering through this life. So don't turn and run when you see Everything that ends eventually. © 2013 James Wells |
