Unexpected

Unexpected

A Poem by James Wells

We were taught to read the eclipses, and hide from eclipses.
So we barricade ourselves in the deep, dark corners.
Whispering slightly, still trying to hold onto our humanity.
We were warned that our eyes would become corrupted.
And only the saints would find a way to lead the sinners.
Calling out loudly to try to find a way home.

We bring down the sun every day.
Because life's just better in the dark.

Send me on my way, I'll be ready when you are.
I did not have a say, but that's alright, let's go.
Send me somewhere safe, a place where you are.
I do not have a say, so help me out, let's go.

We were taught that scarecrows were wise in their empty heads.
That it was okay to fear even if you were ferocious.
And tin could find a way to love, despite not feeling.
We were shown that home is often right there in front of you.
And that even on the darkest day, there may be a path that shines.
Leading you somewhere where you never would go.

We crash from the sky every day.
Because life's up in the air enough.

Send me on my way, I'll be ready when you are.
I did not have a say, but that's alright, let's go.
Send me somewhere safe, a place where you are.
I do not have a say, so help me out, let's go.

Let's go somewhere unexpected.
I don't have a say, so let's go.

I'm just looking to keep people entertained. It's important to me that I do as much as I can to give hope to the hopeless. We need it the most. But I also do say some comedic things occasionally, b.. more..
