BlueA Poem by James Wells
I've been beating up my shadow.
He's the only one who talks to me, it's true. When everything is a dull deep shade of blue. I've been racing down the track in my mind. But it's a superficial, hard waste of a time. When all you'd think is real. Is just another thing you'd steal. Oh, I know that things can't be perfect all the time. Oh, and I know that I need to make this right. Oh, is it true the love that's inside you and I. Oh, if it is I'll turn the car around tonight. I've been roaming through this darkness. Because the lights all burnt out so long ago. But there's nothing still the light could show. I've been tracing through my conscience. Because I figure that will get me somewhere new. But I'm learning that what is true. Isn't always a dull deep shade of blue. Oh, I know that things can't be perfect all the time. Oh, and I know that I need to make this right. Oh, is it true the love that's inside you and I. Oh, if it is I'll turn the car around tonight. Oh, we're standing here shaking like ships at the sea. Oh, and I'm breathing fast with you in front of me. Oh, could you tell me there's love inside me yet. Oh, if I leave could you promise you will not forget.
