Danny's Ship

Danny's Ship

A Poem by James Wells

Danny boy set sail to sea, and set sea to sail.
Decided it was time to go out, tell his tale.
Rode toward the stars and made it halfway
When he realized he was just wasting his day.
Tried to turn around but the ship wouldn't steer.
Smiled to the sky, gave God a willing sneer.
Set that ship on fire, set it out towards the ocean.
We're in motion, we're in motion.
Set out to night, chilly ecosystems.
Can't beat that wisdom, beat that wisdom.
Danny boy climbed the top, looked out to sea.
And all he saw was all he could see.
A frigid ghost lent a hand towards him.
Gave poor Danny chills all down his limbs.
The black water rose, slowly crushing wood.
And Danny dove, swam hard as he could.
Set that ship on fire, set it out towards the ocean.
We're in motion, we're in motion.
Set out to night, chilly ecosystems.
Can't beat that wisdom, beat that wisdom.
Danny boy, his lungs they filled with water.
He felt his world begin to shudder and stutter.
A light appeared somewhere in his brain,
And he begged and pleaded for another day.
Hands reached in and pulled him out from sea.
And all Danny saw was everything.

I'm just looking to keep people entertained. It's important to me that I do as much as I can to give hope to the hopeless. We need it the most. But I also do say some comedic things occasionally, b.. more..
