You say that I'm the one you adore,
yet you treat me like a mat for a door.
I've tried to love you through every situation,
but your love for me comes with limitations.
Always placed second to others in your life,
I'm so tired of dealing with all their strife.
They create their problems on their own,
yet it seems to always affect our home.
If you love me like you say you do,
then why do I get what you put me through.
The grief and pain for all their shame,
guess what, I'm not the blame.
Just when I think this stress might end,
here you come again trying to defend.
All their wrongs and the things they do,
it doesn't seem to matter what you put us through.
I just want to live a calm, peaceful life,
one filled with love and happiness with my wife.
To have that from you would be so grand,
taking each other by the hand.
Standing as one and being strong,
coming against all who do us wrong.
No matter whoever that may be,
I wish you would learn to stand up for me.
No matter what I've got your back,
but it seems I'm always coming under attack.
I wish you could love me like I love you,
then you and others wouldn't hurt me like you do.
Although you never listen to what I say,
still I love you each and every day.
