A Twinkling Eye

A twinkling eye can mean many different things for many different people. To me, a twinkling eye symbolizes hope, trust, and love.

The way her emerald eyes sparkle is beyond anything I've ever connected with. The passion glowing through them when she is expressing something she adores is like staring straight at the sun.  The little twinkle in her doe-like gaze is simply enough to make my heart lazy and my breath shallow. One glance my way from her and I become completely enchanted. I often find myself getting lost in her mesmerizing peer and if I had the chance, I could spend the rest of my days in her bewitching stare. 

Her eyes remind me of a sunny summer morning with the wind making the overgrown grass dance in an abandoned field somewhere in the middle of nowhere. The peace it brings to mind is all I've ever wanted to feel. I know my heart is safe in her gaze, her eyes could never do anything to hurt me. I've fallen totally for the girl because of her blazing green eyes and I don't ever want to give her stare up.

Author's Note

Did I use too many descriptive words? The ending of the first paragraph was hard for me. I'm not sure if I 100% love the ending of it and I feel like i tried to fill it up describing words.

Your use of language here is really good. Interesting that you ask whether you have used too many descriptive words. I often find this kind of self critique to be self fulfilling, as if the writer already knows the answer to the question.

Personally, I would have preferred a little more form, as currently this comes across as more like two rather loosely joined sentences, rather than a prose poem; which is a pity, because as I say, your use of our language is really rather good.

I remember when I was seventeen, seems for ever ago now.
