Seeing Through Shade

Seeing Through Shade

A Poem by James

Mine is a world
that see's through the shade
of my own forgotten lust
for more

For more
of the tragedies of sin
and waste

For more
of the time wasted
wasted on waiting
waiting on wasted
dreams

Music and dance
hold not a chance
for a melody
lost to deaf ears

The sky is dark
on a hot sultry
night
and the waves pound hard
on the shore.

This was a two minute-drill poem for me. When I want to write, but can't I will set a timer for two minutes and see what comes out.

'Seeing through Shade'
James,
We learn, we struggle, we then (hopefully) realize
our own vulnerabilities and make a change before
heavy consequences come into play. I like a poem
about the real down to earth difficulties. Recog-
nizing human frailty is never something to hide.
Blessings,
Kathy

i teach my students freewriting...set a timer for five minutes and just write as much off the top of your head...works great...

did for this poem as well.
for me the shades are drawn tightly....and dreams are welcome...for some of us the melodies are all we have to listen to...no waves on the shore...Thank you for this poem.

Got to hand it to you James, your muse served you well in a two minute drill poem. Mine wouldn't even have turned up on time. There would have been a blank page. You know I might even have a go at one of these mysekf one day. Probably after a glass of vino. A good substitute when the muse is misbehaving.

Two minutes of lust, sin, a bit of sultry pounding on the shore.
I would say it was a great two minutes.
