Just One More Cup

Just One More Cup

A Poem by James

One more cup of coffee
before I have to go
Just one more cup of coffee
before my morning show.
Fill it up just one more time.
Fill it to the brim.
Add in just a little cream...
better make it skim.

Aloha James, lovely little piece. It's such a simple thing but makes the morning an ocassion (everything and ocassion really) especially when you have someone to enjoy a cup with. It's also the perfect way to draw out a moment that little bit longer. Izzy

When in doubt, have another cup! Perfect way to procrastinate trying to figure out how my day will be started! *smile* Are there really people in this world who don't drink coffee? I would think anyone could relate to your straightforward message here *glug! glug! glug!* (((HUGS)))

one of my favourites by Bob Dylan.
Coffee brings out so many nice thoughts. It's a morning cup shared with a lover, or a cup shared with a friend. Always find it so comforting. Nice poem. :)

thank you, there's not really situation that doesn't call for it.
The craving for coffee is obvious here but is one asking for a cup to prolong one's stay and delay the moment when one has to leave someone's company.
I feel as if the poet wants to delay the inevitable but maybe I see more than what one wants to say.

I do understand this poem. I do about 10 cups of coffee daily. Keeps my mind active and alive. Thank you James for sharing the amazing poem about the need of the coffee.
