I'm sitting, trying to hold a steady thought; a difficult task today -- and why should today be special? If Hemingway can't keep my attention, great as he is, then nothing can. So I'll put him aside, right next to Melville, who I set down years ago. I'll just sit and let my mind wander off. Maybe I can focus on more important things like when did my shirt get so tight?
At least you don't have to sew buttons on a book!? Like the fun and ingenuity of this poem, has the taste of a slim book with other such observations! Have you considered that? Fun moments spent and hopefully more to come. .
