Earlier this morning I got out of bed I brushed my teeth and took a shower, or maybe I took a shower then brushed; whatever -- doesn't really matter. The birds outside were singing. First time in days I've heard that, probably because of the rain, a damn lot of rain. I wish like hell they would stop -- giving me a headache, or just adding to the one I've already got. I've tried to figure that out but I can't -- which came first, the headache or the birds? Should I even care? After that, my day went on as usual, a forty-five-minute drive with every other slob in the county on the only road into town, a bunch of Jar-Head Marines trying not to be late. Don't get me wrong, I like Marines but as an Army guy, I'm obligated to give them s**t every chance I get. I passed a street-w***e coming into town, Somebody stopped and picked her up; early-bird special I guess; there goes his lunch money. By the time I got to work, my coffee was cold. I was so caught up in the radio and all the other crap I forgot to drink it. It's hot today, triple digits.
This is rather comical really...like when one thing goes wrong everything just compounds throughout the day. And you know when those days happen the only way they get better is to make a conscious effort to just deal with it and move on - but anger can be stubborn and persist a good long time :)

I like rain and birds. But putting myself in your place, I guess I too would feel same. Early mornings and rush to work are no fun. You described it very well.
I like these ramblings -- gives a certain feel -- the font and form fill it out and give it that little edge. Like sitting on a bench, watching someones thought bubbles.

I like the idea of watching someone's "thought bubbles" that's what's so fun about these sites, you can get a feel for everyone's daily moods and how they think. Kind of cool.
Aha, so you are suffering in the summer heat as well, my friend. Great slice of life poem. I enjoyed wading through your stream of consciousness! Lydi**

It's not as hot as Florida, but the NC coast is feeling it this week. I'll be in the Keys in three weeks, I told my wife it's never hot down there in July.
I wish I had the courage & composure to commit my insane mind rambles to words like this. Even tho you say it's rambling, this is actually very focused & clear & understandable. The strength is the way every word, every thought, every comparison is totally fresh & original, yet oh-so-relatable. I love the Marine vs. Army dig -- as well as the early bird special -- giving your rant a bit of humor & levity, so that we know this isn't so much a bad mood or a bad morning, but instead, it's just insane ramblings that we all find ourselves doing at times.

I'm glad you found something in this other than mindless ramblings. It was really just my ride to work today, early morning and feeling sarcastic and cynical. Thanks.
