The bugler sounds reveille We all stand to -- In quiet remembrance For those precious few Who never came home To tell their tales -- And to those who returned To their own private Hell. We give them one day Of our treasured lives And beat our breasts To show our pride. But when the sun sets On this star-spangled day Will we forget their price until next May?
Good poem, but doesn't really make sense. I think you're confusing "revelry" with the song "Reveille", which is usually played in the morning at first light, and sounds like this:

Based on the tone of this piece, however, I think you are further mixing up "Reveille" with "Taps", a song usually played at funerals and memorials, and sounds like this:

You're message is good, but it might help to do a little more research first so that you can ensure everything is accurate.
Have a pleasant Memorial Day.
Never forget.
