I look into the depths of my soul Searching for the person I am. Is my path bright? I do not know. I struggle to find solid ground, The Earth moves beneath me. The weight of my sins is heavy. I fear the scales will tell the tale Of a life squandered with waste. When my journey ends And I stand before the gates Do I labor among the sinners, Or do I rest among the saints?
I love your depiction of one of life's ending dilemmas . . . very artfully stated, as if "the end" could truly be defined as one of two clear choices! I'm feeling an onslaught of regret perhaps bringing on this agonizing moment of late-life questioning. Don't we all feel we've squandered what we should've savored? Many relatable ideas leading up to the best parting question about death, stated in the last 2 lines!

i think we all do a little of both...sin but do saintly acts too...we are all human...we make mistakes...but those will be forgiven if our overall intentions are good...
i firmly believe that...

Thank you Jacob. Yes we all make mistakes and I too believe that guilt is in the intent.
