Little Bird Go Away

Little Bird Go Away

A Poem by James
"

A little conversation with my morning distraction

"
Little bird
Outside my window
Please go away.
You come here every day
To steal my thoughts and
Replace them with dreams of
Adventures
I long to go
Up where you soar to
See what you see
From your Heavenly view
Nothing is lost
Or hidden from you.
You sing a song
Bright and sweet
But you are always
Alone
Who hears you?
Who is it for?
Must be for me,
I thought so.
Who sent you?
I think I know,
But she is far away
Lost to memory.
Oh, no.
Don't go.
Stay and tell me
What she said.
Does she miss me?
She does.
Tell her I miss her too.

This is adorable, imaginative, & full of palpable feelings, as well as visuals. This might be one of my favorite poems of yours that I've read so far. I love the simplicity, yet the storytelling conveys much extra material between the lines. You've given this little bird a huge personality & meaning.

'Little Bird Go Away'
James,
Oh yes I can identify with your poem! There are so many delightful feathered wonders out there. It only of course takes a single active and vocal fellow to create a distraction. Focus just flees because a birdie decides their life and activities need to happen right in proximity with our own business. What kind of bird comes to challenge and distract you?
Loved your poem.

there was a song Joan Baez did in one of her concerts about a little bird that spoke Spanish and was a messenger for the speaker....
this reminds me of that..."yes, a little birdie told me so"----

i always wonder what the birds are really thinking....

How sweet this is. We always like to think we see messages from those who have left us. Who's to say the bird is not singing a song he learned from one of your loved ones. The scattered rhyme was good and the personification of the bird is lovely. Have to say, when the bird outside my bedroom window starts to sing before the sun rises, it does not please me one bit. this looks like a childhood dream to me. who hasn't longed to fly like a bird and watch the world from above? I like the conversation with your winged friend. who says they don't understand? maybe they're pretending, playing dumb.
you write sweet poems, James.

I really like this. I also get distracted by winged visitors and wonder what their world is like (apart from extremely dangerous). Squirrels too for some reason. I'm glad I'm not the only one who imagines a thread connecting us all together and who has one-sided conversations with them to pass the time too. I like the imagery this poem evokes and the delicateness of its structure reminds the reader of fragile wings and hollow bones. I also like procrastination ☺ well done.
