'Destructive Power of Words and Deeds"

'Destructive Power of Words and Deeds"

A Poem by James

Once again I wake to see the

Destructive power of words and deeds

Choices made with no regard

For those, I love for those I've scarred.

It was done without ill meant

The tears the pain I could not prevent.

Flawed I act without thinking

For the dear soul, I now leave sinking.

I drew my bow, I closed my eyes

I loosed my arrow I let it fly.

Into your chest, I knew it sought

Straight and true Into your tender heart.

If I could return to that dreadful time

I would not prevent my lovers crime.

For this is all I have of you.

This pain in my chest says it was true.

'Destructive Power of Words and Deeds'
James,
I was thinking..this above writing is done in third person. Is it being written from your past lover's vantage point? The last stanza seems to then be written from your vantage point. Really clever writing! This line really captured the reality of the core meaning of what you are saying.."Straight and true into your tender heart.
To be able to look back and ponder past things of this nature is so important. Life is definitely a process and I understand the need for learning and accepting what we have done and/or been through. I hope that I did not stumble around and trip over what you were trying to say.
Blessings to you!
Kathy

Oh this one is powerful James and really shows how regret can become a huge burden and leave one angry at ones self for causing the other pain of another human being. You did a really great job describing it.

Regrets.....hindsight is 20/20 as they say. No way to press a rewind button on life unfortunately. The emotions in this write are honest. I hope the person for whom this is intended knows you did not mean to cause any emotional pain. Lydi**
