'Springtime Honey'

'Springtime Honey'

A Poem by James
"

A fun little piece everyone can relate to.

"
This desire inside me is burning like fire
I don't know how much more I can take.
You came and you stole my mortal soul
and left me at the mercy of fate.

Now every night I dream of your bite
the one that captured my heart.
Now you don't care because life isn't fair
I can feel my spirit depart.

I fumble around mostly lost, never found
my friends think it's terribly funny.
But all I can see are your sweet sweet lips
That taste like springtime honey.

"Springtime Honey"
James,
Sometimes contacts happen and the conditions or even environment can really leave a big impact upon the ability to see and feel logically. That's what this poem seemed to like for me.
A realationship which brings mutual growth and respect is not what I read in the above words.
Who knows what, how or why people may be drawn to another at any particular place or time?
Cool poem.

Kathy

At first, I thought this was going to be another one of those ho-hum passionate love poems . . . but then when I got to the part about the "bite" . . . I started to think zombies & werewolves (rare for me, as I'm not into the supernatural). This poem kinda straddles reality & fantasy . . . I've known people like this . . . you long for their lips, but it actually feels more like a bite, when you get right down to it. Nice play on life.

I don't do supernatural either, wouldn't know where to start. You summed it up perfectly in the end.. read more
last line would be "That taste like springtime honey"?

a fleeting moment of love...a stolen kiss...the tempting of fate...
and then wanting more, but never finding that sweet nectar again...and yet we are delirious from that contact and just can't recover...and yes...our friends will chuckle at us...we are a sorry sight...
