Sterile Air

Sterile Air

A Poem by James Glazier

Sterile air is so uncomforting.

The sound of buzzes and beeps every time someone's heart leaps

Perfectly rectangular rooms painted in warm colors

Feather pillows and thin sheets that only seem to make you colder

Sterile air is so uncomforting.

The sound of mature coughs always followed by another even closer or farther away.

Gift shop balloons and little girls on their way to not know why it's so important to get a picture with grandma

The muffled sound of cnn on your cheap foreign tv predicting the election you'll probably never see

The sterile air, somehow toxic.

Consider taking out "perfectly" and leaving the line as "Rectangle rooms..."

Or you could say square rooms if that's what you're going for.

Perfectly rectangular just seems like you want to say square.

the use of toxic works well
