Societal IllusionA Poem by JamesD
Year by year does change appear
And I hear thine dear voice, Timeless and ageless, spout Sheer volumes of wordless speech. Speech enough to fill a vacuum Of space large enough to fill The immensity you offer, Proffer us original serenity. Serendipity. Brilliantly, beautifully, wonderfully Tranquil, tranquil, quietly Tranquil-- She knows enough to Say much in little. The rustling branches sooth And speak tender words To calm and awaken love And desire--a fire to Live and breath and Consume the apathy Bred within rooms-- Prisons-- That keep enchained The open soul, daydreaming Of the mountains and plains Of a country untamed. So wildly infatuating, calling By name the hearts of Those yearning and longing To turn a blind eye to the Society of comfort and Safety, illusions anyway.
