The Storm

The Storm

A Poem by James Barger

As I drive down this desolate road
An ominous feeling begins to grow
The lightning cracks and the thunder rolls
The rain begins to pour
Inside my mind
It's just like the outside
It's only me
I'm lost in the storm
My mind is being torn
My only wish is to make it stop
I will pray for that last rain drop
As it falls, I know the sun will follow soon
My mind again will be free from this monsoon
