Sweet Nothing

Sweet Nothing

A Poem by James Mayfield
"

To be whispered into a lovers ear.

"

My love for you,
My fairest,
Is as vast as the heavens,
Is wider than the sea,
Is purer than the whitest dove,
Is more powerful than any word,
Is more precious than any jewel,
and is more beautiful than any star.

very sweet poem, and gives a feeling of real love besides the make-believe.

i wrote something similar to this but i honestly think yours turned out better. i loved all the things you compared your love to because they weren't things that you had heard people say over and over again

Nice love poem, I admit. There is a lack of something here that I cannot quite identify at the current moment. Perhaps it is that the concept is a rather clich one, but I'm not sure. It is a nice piece, don't get me wrong. Thank you for your entry into the Any and All Poetry Contest.

WOW....to be whispered in a lovers ear. She would be swept off her feet. A great love poem!

This is sweet but it is NOT-nothing when it is whispered into the lover's ear.
I loved these lines...straight from the heart.

I'dlike to think that this is the beginning of a magnificent piece of work.
Please let me know in case you decide to add more to this.
