Hope

Hope

A Poem by James Mayfield
"

A dulled outlook on life

"

The pain has dulled

For now

A slight relaxing of the limbs

The world around me

Begins to feel real

It's rare

these times of lucidity

When life seems to matter

Love and family seem real

Life has a purpose

But alas I know

I know that this will not last

It's just a reprieve

A moments peace

In a world full of pain.

keep that hope alive! wihtout hope the world is lost...
thats the problem today, we think too much about our damn problems and not about what is important...family, friends..all the people that we love and care about and how lucky must of us are and what we take for granted....
strong piece, great write, well done.

It is dark, though not a cliched, comic-book sort of darkness. The darkness in it is foreboding, enveloping, the sort that not even a shed of light will ever penetrate through. The tone is sombre, it also mirrors the evident darkness of the work. Frightening ... intruiging.
