My wife is getting married

My wife is getting married

A Poem by James Mayfield
"

Just poking some fun.

"

My wife is getting married.

Yes

You heard me correctly

My wife is getting married.

No

It wasn't unexpectedly

It's been rather long in coming

No

I really am doing fine

In fact I simply feel sublime

Thank God it's nearly time

My wife is getting married.

No

I am not invited

But still I'm quite excited

Although my thoughts are still divided

Should I give the groom a toaster

or a tie?

The toaster, the toaster!!! It could malfunction and start a house fire. Of course, a neck tie could always get caught in a train door...
Congratulations! No more alimony?

Can I share a funny story? My man recently bought a bicycle so we picked up some accessories... I got a cute bell with a pony on it (no, I'm not 12, just young at heart), and we both got caps for the air stems in the tires. He chose the iron crosses, and I chose the skulls. On the way home from a trip out of town, the bike rack malfunctioned... MY bike with the skulls died on the highway, his bike, with the crosses, made it all the way home. So, again, I say, go with the toaster, or make sure that tie has a skull on it too!!!

I enjoyed this very much. Maybe you should spring for the appliance and the necktie. Great write!

haha this is somewhat amusing just one of those things where you just kind of shrug at the end and say: well if that's what you're in to...:P
but it is rather good- good luck in the competition with it :) xx

I like this. This was funny. I think maybe the tie for him so he can strangle her when he has had enough and a toaster for her so she can electricute him, lol. I'm glad you are feeling good about it all though. XX

First off. I had no clue you wrote this about your ex-wife. I thought you just wrote this on a whim. I write things randomly on whims, that make no sence, so I thought, hey... Makes sence to me. But now I know the truth, your review is going to be very much different. I like it. I find it very humorous and I usually don't like rhythmic poems. But it was funny.

I say the toaster, and maybe the new one will do here in with its aid. But then again, little guy would be heart broken, so no undue harm should come to her.

DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD comes to mind reading this. I giggled. Not an easy feat to accomplish. I am coming to enjoy your writing very much. You are a true painter of words.
