Drake

Drake

A Poem by James Mayfield
"

Inspired by my son.

"

Drake
A mottled history
Of loss and gain
The misery of joy
And the fruit of pain
A hope for life
And a new one born
Though the old one
Lay tattered and worn
The love
Once a bonfire
Now stoked
With a new desire
For a better life
A love made shield
And a sword of strength
For a Drake born of fire on a battlefield

This is so beautiful. One day Drake will get to look back on the writings you have done about him and to me that is so awesome!
