We Are The Damaged OnesA Poem by Young&RecklessGoing through what I've gone through, I've gotten the ability to get a sense for when people who have gone or are going through something similar. Thats who this is about. We Are The Damaged ones
We’re the suicidal freaks, The hot-tempered, The loners, The anorexic, The invisible ones, We are what the outside world
says we are,
From underneath the general
publics shoes, We sit with no voice and let
our self-hate devour us, The world’s judgment has led
us to believe there’s no one for us to confide in, No one to trust, No one who will stay up late
just to make sure we make it through the night,
You felt powerful when you
called Taylor anorexic, But you don’t see that you’re
just repeating the words of her mother, But she’ll wake up tomorrow
and face you again to take your power away, You felt cool when you called
James a loner, But you don’t understand that
he’d rather be alone ‘cause then no one can walk out of his life like his
mother did,
You felt strong when you told
Jeff to go to anger management But you can’t see his temper
comes from watching his drunken father beat his mother, But he’ll try to keep his
cool tomorrow to weaken you,
It made you feel big when you called Jay
a suicidal freak- The same kid they pulled in from a
third story window last night But he will live just to
prove you wrong,
You categorize us by what you
think, Not by what you know, But what you don’t know is, Damaged people are dangerous
because we know we can survive, Anything. © 2014 Young&Reckless |
