For the Love of God, get a Therapist

For the Love of God, get a Therapist

A Poem by Jakki
"

A witty plea from a mental health worker

"
The world is wild, life is weird,
Your childhood wounds have not disappeared.
Your boss is crazy, your kids won’t sleep,
Texts from your parents just make you weep.

Your marriage? Strained. Your friendships? Sparse.
And global events keep kicking your arse!
You cope with wine, you cope with memes,
But deep inside, your psyche screams.

So for the love of all that’s holy,
Go get a therapist slowly, boldly!

The broken, the breakers, the young and the old,
The ones who’ve cause trauma and those who’ve been told:
“You’re just too much,” or, “You’re not enough,”
“Why are you crying? Life isn’t that tough.”

Boomers? GO. For the love of God.
You’re not at war, put down your rod.
Your kids have feelings, they’re not just “slack,”
And yelling “RESPECT!” won’t win them.

Gen X? You’re tough, we see you there,
Running on fumes, pretending you care.
You raised yourselves, we get the gist,
But self-help books aren’t therapists.

Millennials? Stressed, depressed, but well-researched,
You’re self-aware but financially cursed.
Your coping skills? Unmatched, insane
But therapy might just ease the pain.

Gen Z? You’ve read all the T’s & C’s,
Can diagnosed yourselves with unmatched ease.
You’re in the trenches, fighting for change
But remember healing’s still an inside game.

The teachers? The parents? The podcast bros?
The first responders? The medicos?
The influencers - those self-proclaimed sages,
Who’ve only read half of the book’s first pages?

The workers, the leaders, the saints, the sinners,
Those doing their best, whether losers or winners.
The politicians? - ESPECIALLY you!
And the fitness gurus, y’all need help too.

But hear me now, because this part is key:
Even the therapists need therapy.

Because truth be told, the world is a mess,
And all of us here are just managing stress
So please, just take this friendly plea -
And go get some freaking therapy!

It felt relatable, truth is nobody is winning in life
If someone brags they are winning
They are either pretending or delusional

I have read poetrys that is full of fluffy words with no real information, but yours have a lot of background information, making it a solid read for anyone
