The Bronx ZooA Poem by Edmond Dantes
Lost at the zoo-The Bronx Zoo
These human tourists, visitors- Should be locked in here too! But I wouldn't come pay to see that s**t- This whole world is a zoo, The United States is a f*****g zoo! I can watch the human animals out on the street, Fornicating, slapping the s**t out of each other- Bucking off bullets from mechanized weaponry-their gats! Ripping apart abdomens Bullets displaced in brain cavities! Hearts-going: pitter/patter, pitter/patter, pitter/patter Stopped! That's what humans do to each other: In our zoo! But who knew? You live in there. You breathe that stench. Fill your lungs, take a puff-let it burn, Let it all burn! Open the cages; let all the animals out, Open the cells and let all the human animals out! And say hi to the Aliens That fly in the sky- They have front row seats! To this human experiment. Just as I watch now-face-planted, against the glass Watching the Gorillas in the mist Along with the rest of the visitors/tourists At The Bronx Zoo! *note: Written in ny at the bronx zoo this past sunday. I was separated from my group of friends for 2hours (cell problems) & I decided to check out the Gorilla Congo Exhibit & wait for them. After viewing my fill I laid on a bench in the cool AC to rest or read my book. I had one sheet of paper with a poem on it of Emz's 'Black Rainbow' & decided to write on the back. This is what insued & my friends arrived shortly after I finished writing. I read it to them later that night while eating dinner in Chinatown. Hope you enjoyed the effort. thanks for reading © 2009 Edmond DantesReviews
