Goosebumps Adorn My Arms

Goosebumps Adorn My Arms

A Poem by Edmond Dantes

Goosebumps adorn my arms

Like thorns of barbed-wire scorned

The touch, taste, smell of you

Like hell

Burnt parchment of your

Feeble love

Self-destruct, until the end-

I'll find no other!

& once more against

That gentle wind

I'll walk

Plagued to see your

Likeness, here or there.

*note: a friend on this site (emma) gave me this line for the title & I wanted to work a poem out of it. thanks emz

Whoa! Ouch! lol

A scorned lover? Pain filled memories that are
now haunting...

"Burnt parchment of your
Feeble love
Self-destruct, until the end-
I'll find no other!.."

Nice work Jake!!

this had a sort of violent haunting imagery.

i love "barbed-wire scorn"

also being plagued.

for being a challenge this comes off as deeply personal. kudos! great write.
