So You Say I'm Not a PoetA Poem by Edmond DantesSo you say I'm not a poet? Shall I take up the wrench & put down the pen? Pick up a rifle & drink from my inkwell Or would you rather me take this pencil & stab myself in the neck! Climb scaffold--build buildings, Would that earn your respect? Perhaps, I'll be the prosecutor & send you away Lifetime behind bars In a northern Cali prison called Pelican Bay. Maybe I'm the guard that'll put you in solitary With nothing to do, Then I'll issue you paper & pen & You can try your hand at poetry too! Then I'll toss your cell & rip your verses to shreds & laugh as I watch you go insane in the head. © 2014 Edmond DantesFeatured Review
