For Lou

For Lou

A Poem by Edmond Dantes
"

I wrote this piece as if I was Ann Tyng, the Architect , who was one of Louis Kahn's women. The documentary on Loise Kahn was most interestin after watching her interview--this is what came out of it.

"
For Lou

When I left him, I didn't really want to But I had to, as much as it sent a deep pain to my heart
I hoped things wouldn't change
Of course they always do
And me with child and all
If only I could have you, fully
Whole heartedly
I could give you what you want
We could build together,
Great works of art
Beauty as real as it is functional
And of our child, What shall we name it?
Louis Kahn Jr. or Louise?
I'm off to Rome now To have it in secret
I so wish you could join me
We could explore the history
Of Architecture
Make sketches of the Pantheon
Life would be grand
Things are . . . as they are, I must accept them
You do know, I truly love you
And always will
Sincerely yours,
Ann Tyng.
