My closest friend,
Sometimes it's like waking up
Over and over.
Like suffocating in the broad daylight.
I feel you when I remember
When we'd laugh together, and you made me feel safe.
You promised me the world
And sang to me
Hymns of my dreams, and spoke poetry
I followed you in the light and the dark
Until we were lost

I called out your name and heard your voice
You spoke to me
But I couldn't hear your words
