The daysA Poem by Jake StaffeldFrom my sleep craving mind comes this... I have no idea if its good or bad or what.
I long for the days
When I was angry Felt the red rage boiling over Onto the white of my soul I miss the days when I was happy Feeling things like euphoria Cleansing my heart I search for the days When I was in pain When my blood still spilled Confirming that I was still alive These days I'm only ever sad I can't even hurt anymore It's like a vast emptiness inside I don't know what I want I'm sad and tired and confused But it all seems so clear When I'm dreaming Grasping at illusions Of strings pure white Gripping balloons of silk Protecting a diamond heart Holding on to what I was Pulling in who I will be With tethers made of destiny And ropes made of sorrow These days I sometimes wish it was all over Then that everything would last forever Confusing time for life
