Left alone

Left alone

A Poem by Jake Staffeld

After everything caves in
The world has crumbled
Into a city of gray
And the rain no longer stings

Lies led you down
Friends let you go
Falling apart in the dark
To a sorry love song

Because you've been blamed
For that which you didn't do
And these walls turn to gray
Become a nearing threat
Squeeze out the air

Sobbing out a protest
A plea of innocence
Screaming out the pain
In bitter words for the world

Tumble down into dark
Abandon what held you
Circumstances unfavorable are all you have
Spirits flee to a sanctuary

Leaving you alone

I understand the poem. Sometime can't help pissing everybody off. I like the sanctuary of peace sometime. Life allow us to create separation or togetherness. Thank you for the excellent poem.

I really like this poem.
It's a really relatable, connectable topic and the structuring gives a rhythm as I read it.
