Turn Away

This is a need

Deep down in the heart

Of my being

I can't help it

You look so beautiful it hurts

To think that I could be your equal

Seems a fallacy of immense proportions

But don't tell me

I know I've made mistakes

I see how wrong I've been

Hurting you with words

I don't even mean

Tears like stars

Fall from my face

As I think back

To what I might have had

If I hadn't changed 

Would you still love me?

I'm a different person now

So much has happened

I wish hadn't

I can't help you along

I'm confined to watching

As you cry your way home

Pieces of me break off

The mask breaks

As you turn away

A sad and powerful poem. Most of learn heartbreak after seeing tears from another because of our deeds. I wish to take back so many words that I spoke without thought. A excellent poem. Can learn some common sense if you read this poem for real.

An emotional plea...that is perfectly expressed.. I love the way you say the mask breaks..as you turn away.. Unfortunately, life happens that way sometimes..and it hurts..x

As a reader my heart went out to you as i read this line. That one line brings in all the emotion it sets the poem up for the proper emotion and feelings.
What a sorrowful poem, i am sure as i read this that many have felt this way. the best thing to do is try anyone to do is to try their hardest to be the person they wanted to be she may come back but most likely you will find someone who will fall in love with you for just the way you are.
